Background: The 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake severely impacted Mashiki Town, causing extensive damage to public facilities, schools, and child-related institutions. Among them, the playground equipment at Mashiki Municipal Kindergarten was destroyed in the disaster, leaving children without a safe place to play.
During the post-disaster reconstruction process, creating a safe and joyful environment for children to grow up in became a key issue for the local community. In response, a set of playground equipment was donated with the hope of providing children with a safe and fun space to run, climb, explore, and develop both physical abilities and social skills. This initiative aims to bring more smiles and energy into the lives of children affected by the earthquake.
Results: This donation not only increased opportunities for children to engage in physical activity but also symbolized ongoing support and care for the affected region. It represents a heartfelt contribution to improving the educational environment and child welfare in the area, supporting healthy growth for children and helping build a brighter future for the community.
The Future: We will continue to collaborate with the local government to provide necessary resources and support, ensuring that children in disaster-affected areas can grow up in a safe and nurturing environment. Our hope is to bring renewed hope to more communities and open up new possibilities for the future of children.
