The Story: Due to the gap between urban and rural areas, rural areas have poor book resources and reading habits, and sometimes lack incentives for active learning, making the situation in disadvantaged areas even more difficult. In order to help children and students develop reading habits, YP donates picture books and books. In 2023, a post-reading experience award event for picture books and compositions has been co-organized with schools, and outstanding works have been carefully selected and published into a collection.
In order to help children develop reading habits and establish good conduct, we continue to promote mobile libraries and children's book donations
The Results: In 2022, the mobile library has started in Tanegashima Nishinomot City, Kagoshima Prefecture, and gradually expanded to Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Masaki Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, and Itoman City, Okinawa Prefecture.
Donate books to promote reading activities in towns and villages, currently in Hokkaido, Fukushima Prefecture, Tochigi Prefecture, Shizuoka Prefecture, Atami City, Oita Prefecture, Shimane Prefecture, Kumamoto Prefecture, Tanegashima Nishinoote City, Okinawa Prefecture, etc. Book donation and mobile library support activities continue to be promoted.
The Future: We will continue to promote the program and expand it to other areas in need, hoping to let children experience the joy of reading.
